Imagine if your RV season did not have to end! Instead of storing your RV, what if you were one of those brave people who continued to haul their Nash travel trailers through rain, snow, and sleet?
It’s possible with the Right Setup Nash Travel Trailers
RVing in winter allows you to see the world through a completely different lens. It also lowers the cost of camping. In some cases, you may even have the entire campground to yourself. But, this isn’t for everyone. Winter camping can be difficult. If you are one of those brave souls who want to continue the adventure, I will be reviewing my 8 favorite Nash travel trailers that can be used for cold-weather camping and winter.
Why choose Nash Travel Trailers?
There are many options for winter RVing, but I believe that the Nash travel trailers offer the most practical and reliable option. Although driving in winter conditions can be challenging, there are many benefits to a travel trailer. You can unhitch your vehicle and go. This luxury is great in the summer, but it’s even more so during winter.
In bad weather, the last thing you want is to drag your whole house to the grocery store to get supplies. You don’t need to with a travel trailer.
The Nash travel trailers are just as sturdy and warm as any other class of RV, so you don’t have to miss out on the freedom they provide.
What Arctic Packages Do I Need Nash Travel Trailers?
Most likely, you’ve seen RVs labeled as having 4-seasons capability or fully equipped with an arctic package. There is no standard for what an Arctic package should include, which can lead to confusion. This also means that an arctic package from one manufacturer could look very different to what you need.
It’s important not to get caught up in the marketing. Instead, make sure that you fully understand what the packages include for the 4-season and arctic seasons. Additional insulation, as measured by the R-Value of the rigs, and special warming mechanisms for tanks or fluid lines are two important things to look out for. While it is difficult to be cold, being frozen in winter can cause more problems than just being a bit cold.
You should not only focus on the R-Value for the RV’s insulation but also the individual RV’s. Manufacturers may focus only on one part of the RV and claim a high roof R-value. This could make the rest of your RV seem smaller.
Keystone Montana
The Keystone Montana is the best when it comes keeping warm and comfortable, no matter the weather. The Montana is equipped with all the winter-ready features, including heated underbelly, heating pads, solar panels and heated holding tanks.
It’s not just about talking to Keystone! Guaranty explained that Keystone tested Montana by placing the rig in an extreme weather chamber. Unfortunately, I cannot find the original Keystone post. The thermostat was set to a warm 74 degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature outside dropped to 0 degrees. The interior of Montana was warm even in below-freezing temperatures. It didn’t dip below 70 degrees. It’s not only warm but a bit too warm!
